The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Serrated Scalpel was an adventure game that followed Sherlock Holmes, who helps Scotland Yard with the murder investigation of a young actress. The method of her death looks to be another murder committed by Jack the Ripper, however Sherlock Holmes suspects someone else had committed the crime.
The MS-DOS Disk version and CD-Rom version of The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes are exactly the same. Voice-overs are included in the intro, the cut scene at St Pancras Station and the last scene. The 3DO-version is a full talkie, and instead of the painted portraits video-actors are shown. The 3DO-version is also in higher resolution, but it's missing the "Journal" (Watson's Journal notes) option in the verb panel at the bottom of the screen.
