Gemini Rue is a sci-fi adventure with action elements, set in the far future.
The player assumes control of two different characters, whose storylines are developed independently but would eventually converge:
- Azriel Odin, a former assassin who just arrived on the Barracus colony in the Gemini System. He needs to arrange a meeting with a contact and deal with a local gang.
- Delta-Six, a patient in an advanced medical facility who had his memory wiped. He needs to investigate his surroundings and find a way to escape.

Besides the common point-and-click mechanics, the game includes some action sequences, where the player must use the keyboard with proper timing to enter/leave cover, shoot or escape.
