Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge was the second game in the Monkey Island series, and the sixth game to use the SCUMM scripting language. The game first follows Guybrush as he tries to find a mysterious treasure known as Big Whoop. Later, Guybrush must again defeat Captain LeChuck, the ghost pirate he defeated in the first game, who has returned as a zombie awoken by a voodoo spell.
Versions
Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge was the first game supported by ScummVM.
It was released in several different versions.
- The SCUMM V5 versions (Amiga, FM-TOWNS, Macintosh, VGA DOS floppy, and VGA DOS CD)
- The Special Edition version (based on the DOS CD version with high-resolution assets laid over the original V5 script data).
The high-resolution data ("modern" mode) in the Special Edition is not supported by ScummVM. It is possible to extract the files of the V5 VGA DOS CD version ("classic" mode) and make them playable via ScummVM. The process is described in this thread. Do note that by using this method, only the classic mode is playable in ScummVM.
Miscellaneous
- A list of boot params is available for this game.
