Gadget: Invention, Travel & Adventure is a first-person adventure game created by Haruhiko Shono and published by Toshiba EMI. A later edition (titled Gadget: Past as Future) was published in 1997 by Cryo Interactive. The player takes on the role of a nameless government agent tasked to find a government scientist named Horselover, while the Earth is threatened by an incoming comet.
Install notes
ScummVM should recognize the top folder of the original install media as containing the game.
As of the time of this writing, ScummVM supports the original JP and US release from Toshiba EMI, based on Director 3.
The EU localized release by Cryo Interactive is based on Director 5, and is not yet fully working.
Saving
For Director games, saving the game is a feature written by the original authors of the title. Once the game gives you control in the hotel room, you can click the black strip at the top of the game screen to show the menu bar, open the File Menu, then pick either Open or Save.
