Mindscape
Mindscape was a publisher, distributor, and developer founded by Roger Buoy in Northbrook, Illinois in 1983. In 1990, Mindscape merged with The Software Toolworks. Mindscape was sold to Pearson PLC in 1994. In 1998, Mindscape was sold three times in a single year: first to The Learning Company, then to Mattel (along with the Learning Company), and later to Gore Technology Group. Jean-Pierre Nordman purchased the international division of The Learning Company in 2001, along with Mindscape. That same year, Mindscape once again became an independent company, based in France. In 2005, Mindscape purchased Coktel Vision. In 2011, they closed all of their game development divisions, and exited the game industry.
