King's Quest II: Romancing the Throne was created by Sierra On-Line co-founder Roberta Williams in 1986. Rather than the fictional kingdom of Daventry, King's Quest III is set in the fictional land of Llewdor, and follows the story of a slave named Gwydion who was raised by the evil sorcerer Mannadan. Mannadann kills his slaves on their 18th birthday, and since Gwydion will turn 18 soon, he has to find a way to escape. He ends up using the magician's magic against him by turning him into a cat. Once free, he goes to the kingdom of Daventry and discovers that he is the long lost son of King Graham and Queen Valanice, Prince Alexander.
