Alone in the Dark is a survival horror action game, and the first game in the series.
The game takes place in Derceto, a sinister mansion in Louisiana where the owner, Jeremy Hartwood, committed suicide after descending into madness.
You can play as Emily Hartwood, niece of the departed, or Edward Carnaby, a private detective, and are tasked with exploring the mansion to investigate on the matter.
The game is based on H.P. Lovecraft's writings.
