Crusader: No Remorse is an action game developed by Origin Systems and published by Electronic Arts. It was first released in 1995 for MS-DOS, with the Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn ports following in 1997. Set in a dystopian future 22nd century, the game centers on The Captain, a special ops officer and supersoldier, who defects from the tyrannical world government, the World Economic Consortium (WEC), and joins the Resistance rebels.

Critically well-received, No Remorse was followed by the PC-only sequel Crusader: No Regret in 1996.

Required data files

For more information on how ScummVM uses game data files, see the user documentation.

Only the DOS version data files can be used (Playstation and Sega Saturn are not supported). The following folders are needed:

  • STATIC folder
  • USECODE folder
  • SOUND folder (from the CD)
  • FLICS folder (from the CD)

GOG version: GOG includes the separately to the CD image. Take the USECODE and STATIC directories from the unpacked part, and the FLICS and SOUND folders from the CD image (called D.iso on MacOS, and an iso file named game.gog on Windows)

Notes

  • Some CD images (such as the one which forms part of the GOG version) contain compressed data which cannot be used directly. If EUSECODE.FLX is ~420kb instead of ~550kb, you will need to find a larger version. ScummVM needs a copy of the installed USECODE data (the ~550kb version).
  • The Japanese version is missing some data files as they were compiled into its EXE. It is not currently supported.
