This page is here to document external files, in particular it will discuss the use of and alternatives to hardware bios dumps. Due to the nature of copyright laws, distribution of these bios dumps are not permitted. To obtain legal copies of this data, you will need to dump the data directly from your own hardware.

FM-Towns Font

  • FMT_FNT.ROM

This file is a dump of the font stored within the FM-Towns bios, it is used for the display of the FM-Towns Kanji text when playing Japanese FM-Towns games.

Alternatives

  • It is possible to create a custom Shift JIS font for Kanji display using the create_sjisfnt tool, available from the tools package.
  • HOWTO create a FM-Towns font rom(FMT_FNT.ROM) using a Windows font FM-Towns Font Rom HOWTO

MT-32 Controller

  • MT32_CONTROL.ROM
  • MT32_PCM.ROM

These two files are dumps of the MT-32 bios, the dumps are used to emulate the MT-32 hardware within ScummVM.

Alternatives

Currently there are no alternative methods to emulate the MT-32 hardware within ScummVM.

PC-Engine/TurboGrafx16 Font

  • pce.cdbios

This file is a dump of the PC-Engine/TurboGrafx16 System Card, it contains the font data required to display the Kanji text in the Japanese PC-Engine/TurboGrafx version of Loom.
