The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Rose Tattoo was an adventure game that was the sequel to The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Serrated Scalpel. The brother of Sherlock Holmes, Mycroft, is caught in an explosion when his club, the Diogenes, is blown up. Doctor Watson and Sherlock Holmes are both playable characters, who go about investigating the explosion to discover the truth. They come to realize that the explosion was caused by a bomb, rather than a gas leak as previously assumed, leading the investigation towards a case of epionage and the unusual death of an unidentified man.

Differences

  • The current method for drawing scaled images is implemented differently from the original, which still needs to be figured out. This can result in a few places in the game where the images during cutscenes can end up being slightly offset by a pixel. A good example is when you examine Pratt's dead body in the morgue.
  • The original hid the cursor in lots of places, such as for scene changes and many cutscenes. I haven't been able to figure out the exact rules for when this happens, so in ScummVM the cursor will stay visible all the time; which I think is better anyway, particularly when running the game in a window.
