Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment was first used as a licencing branch for video games around 1995. Time Warner had reacquired Atari Games in 1993 and with that tried to establish their own video game division called Time Warner Interactive for developing and publishing games. They also bought UK publisher Renegade Software in 1995 and published games under the Warner Interactive label. Both were sold off again in 1996/1997 though. Time Warner entered the developing and publishing business again after the acquisition of Monolith Productions in 2004 under the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment label.

As 1 1/2 Ritter is a game based on the German film of the same name and only released in German, it was published by the German subsidiary of Warner Bros. Entertainment instead.
