Whispers of a Machine is a futuristic point-and-click detective adventure.
The player controls Vera Englund, a cybernetically-augmented special agent who is tasked with the investigation of a string of murders.
In doing so, she unravels a complex conflict between progress and unethical technology.
The game includes some RPG elements. The protagonist is defined by three traits (emphatetic, assertive and analytical) which are modified after interactions with other people or the surrounding world.
These stats can change the augmentations available during the game and the possibile ways to solve the puzzles.
