The first installment in the series, Simon the Sorcerer, used the AGOS engine that was first used in Adventure Soft's (as Horror Soft) Elvira, Mistress of the Dark series and was a graphical extension of AberMUD V. The game follows a teenager named Simon who has been unwittingly brought into a world of magic to save the wizard Calypso from the evil sorcerer Sordid.
