I would like to understand what precisely the purpose of this page is meant to be... Is it there for user documentation, or to reference all and everthing that is there which could be called "Documentation for ScummVM" in some way? I originally thought it should be the former, but then it doesn't make sense to link to the Engines/Backends/Release HOWTOs from here... those are already linked to from the Developer Central, too, BTW.
So, let's clarify what we intend to do with this page. My stance: Link to stuff that's useful for end users. That does include instructions on how to compile, or how to use Mac versions of a game, but not how to make a ScummVM release, nor info on " CVS to Subversion" :-).

Hi, Fingolfin.
The intended audience for this page is of course the end-user.
As I'm currently transfering much info into the Wiki, I decided to just fill in some info for starters, to get myself a picture where this is heading. It is of course better to leave articles of interest for developers out of this article. I will change that tonight.
I do not (yet) have that much experience with Wikis, and might not arrange everything perfect in the first place, this is why critics are always welcome.
I just thought it would be a good idea to start a documentation central, and as it didn't exist before, it still needs improvement and work. -- Joachimeberhard 17:00, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Joachim, thanks for the info. I think it's a good a thing to start a user documentation central, too -- I simply was confused by the content listed here, hence my question :-). The new content is of course much shorter, but matches more what I had imagined. Hopefully it'll fill up soon with more stuff (by lots of people, not just you, of course).
