'''Backyard Baseball 2005''' was the fifth game in the [[Backyard Baseball series]] of games aimed at recreating the experience of playing baseball as children.  This game was the first game to be released from the start with a custom 3D engine.  Like all of the entries in the series except the first game, it has official licenses from the Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association, and features MLB players portrayed as children.
