There are a number of Driller demos for different platforms all of them non-interactive. Demos will show replay a sequence of inputs directly in the game engine. Therefore, these results are no prerenderer images but all the graphics are generated on real-time.

ZX Spectrum demos

1. Crash magazine (issue v.1 #45, October 1987). This demo will show a long description of the game, and the tour around the Malachite area and show the drilling rig. Not supported yet.

2. Outlet magazine (issue #5, January? 1988)]. This demo will tour around the Amethyst area. Not supported yet.

Amiga demos

1. Unknown origin (9th September 1988). This demo will show a short description of the game and then tour around Amethyst, the store room and Obsidian. To run this demo, copy the following files:

  • console.neo
  • data
  • demo.cmd
  • driller
  • lift.neo
  • soundfx

AtariST demos

1. Unknown origin (1988?) . This demo has exactly the same data as the Amiga one. To run this demo, copy the following files:

  • console.neo
  • data
  • demo.cmd
  • lift.neo
  • soundfx
  • x.prg

2. Blue Software Demo Disk 484: This software seems to contain the same as the Amiga/AtariST, however their data files are different. Unsupported.

Additional options

Using the option "disable demo mode", ScummVM allows to interactively visit the areas in the demos. The demos do not include the full game, but it is unknown how complete are in terms of data/scripts included.
