Extraction screenshot
The original comment by Criezy: The only part that I have some reservation on is the screenshot for the"extract the provided archive". It is very platform dependant and even on one given platform it depends on the software used. On MacOS X for example you would just double click on the downloaded archive, which would extract the content where the archive is, and then you move the extracted files to where you want. I am afraid the screenshot that you use (which is quite complex compared to the single progress bar that you get on MacOS X) would confuse some users. I don't know if we can find something that is more generic for this part but we should try.
- I agree. I tried cleaning it of all possible platform-dependent features (it is actually a compilation of two pictures), but the screenshot seems to look 'out of place' in general. What I believe to be of any importance in that picture (however infinitesimal) is the path to where one is extracting the archive (it is referred to in one of the 'Adding a game' screenshots). But then, it comes to mind that we probably should depicture another game being installed, too. Because the guide says 'we can'.
- So the question is as follows: do we remove this picture altogether, or just shrink it leaving the most 'important' areas and add a screenshot of a game's installation? Svipur 13:38, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
I think there should also be a phrase about what ScummVM is, in the very beginning of the guide. So... which one (of those phrases)? ) Svipur 13:38, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- I agree and just added such a section Criezy 11:23, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
