Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment was formed as Time Warner Interactive in 1993, when they bought a controlling interest in Atari Games. It was intended to be the video game publishing branch of Time Warner for the home market, while Atari Games made games for the arcade market. In 1995, Time Warner purchased and renamed Renegade Software to Warner Interactive. After this, they retired the Time Warner Interactive label, began to publish titles under the Warner Interactive label, and also began using the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment label for licensing. Warner Interactive was sold to GT Interactive in 1997, and the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment label began to be used for both publishing and licensing.

They published the adventure game 1 1/2 Ritter.
