Dinotopia was the third game to use The Dreamers Guild's SAGA engine. The game takes place on an island surrounded by treacherous waters, where dinosaurs still exist and have evolved to a point where they have become intelligent and capable of speech. The only humans on the island are survivors (or their decedents) of shipwrecks, and they live in harmony together with the dinosaurs on the island. The game follows a shipwrecked teenager named Nathan, as he tries to reunite with his twin sister Constance who he became separated from after the boat crashed.
