Maniac Mansion Mania is a community dedicated to the creation of short fan-made games, taking place in the Maniac Mansion universe.

The games have been designed almost exclusively using Adventure Game Studio and use some resources recreated from the LucasArts adventures and others built from scratch.
As of 2024, about 100 episodes are freely available, plus some spin-offs. Most games are available only in German, but a few also feature alternate languages.

The infamous "staircase bug"

Most games should play properly in ScummVM, but the early releases are plagued by an annoying bug occurring when attempting to move to the lower floor after leaving Bernard's room.
This is is not a ScummVM bug, as it also occurs using the AGS interpreter that ScummVM's implementation is based off (see bugreport and wiki)

Workaround
Instead of click-spamming the stairs, the bug can be avoided most of times with a simple workaround:
1. Move the character near the stairs, indicatively where the "cyan line" on the floor starts bending (see cursor in screenshot)

2. Click near the middle of the second pillar
