Resonance is a sci-fi adventure set in a contemporary setting.
Multiple terrorist attacks using unconventional weapons have taken place all over the world. The game follows the lives of four different characters, starting 60 hours before the attacks:
- Tolstoy Eddings, a mathematician who has been working on a revolutionary theory with his colleague, professor Morales;
- Anna Castellanos, Morales' niece;
- Raymond Abbot, an investigative journalist who uses unortodox methods to obtain inside information;
- Winston Bennet, a police detective.
The game is played as a classic point-and-click adventure.
In the first chapter, each character is controlled individually. As the game progresses, the storylines intersect and the characters must be used in collaboration to proceed.
The game also includes an unusual "short term" and "long term" memory feature. Previous events (shown as icons) can be dragged into the game screen to have the character recall old information,
which can provide insight or help solve a puzzle.
