Original Wintermute Engine by Jan Nedoma was developed for Windows OS in years 2003-2013. WME 1.x supports both 2D and 3D games. There is a version list and a changelog for this branch bundled in latest WME Development Kit.

During years 2009-2012, a fork of WME, called "WME Community Edition" or "WME 1.9.x (Kinjal Edition)", was developed by WME forum user Kinjal. There is a version list and a changelog for this branch at this forum page: http://forum.dead-code.org/index.php?topic=4025.0

WME Lite is a fork of the original Wintermute Engine 1.x. The code has been modified to be easily portable to other platforms. WME Lite only supports 2D games. There seems to be no version list or a changelog.
