Guard Duty is a point-and-click fantasy adventure inspired by classics such as Legend of Kyrandia or Simon the Sorcerer.
A peculiar characteristic of the game is that it is split in two (intertwining) parts, quite different both in style and mechanics:
- In the first part, the main character is Tondbert, a not too bright guard of the Castle of Wrinklewood, who embarks in a quest to rescue a kindapped princess and bring the culprit (a powerful wizard) to justice.
- In the second part, that takes place 1000 years later and is set in a dark cyberpunk world and a space station, the player controls special agent Starborn in a dangerous infiltration mission.
